How You Can Create Successful Content

For a start it is best to ignore mainstream media journalists, especially those that like to form councils. See Council_to_Counter_Web_Content_Generators.pdf
It is key to your website’s SEO and SERPs that content creators and editors understand that Google is looking for relevant content and not necessarily doctorate or degree level journalistic content. “Relevance” is in the eyes of the beholder, moreover the searcher! If there are a lot of searches for “web design companies in Cheltenham” and you publish a page that shows “web design companies in Cheltenham”, then you are producing relevant content and Google will reward you and rank you accordingly.
Google are measuring how relevant visitors think the information is, and there are various signals that they use to determine this, according to Google they look at 200 signals and that these often change on a weekly basis. These signals will not come from a council of elitist, self-interested old-school media journalists. The signals will be based on user activity voting patterns. These signals must be scalable i.e. links, visits, timeliness, recommendations, frequency of appearance, re-quoting, etc.
Increases in quality, according to the ISCS, content depth and accuracy from narcissistic pretentious Journos. – will come from end-user voting. If users want deeper more educating answers to search questions, either Google will deliver it, or users will look elsewhere, refining their search criterion as they go.
Having said all that, a lot of duplicated lightweight content won’t survive in the long term, because Google likes to provide variety in their SERPs in fact Google actually looks negatively on duplicated content. The best process to take forward for your website is to look for ways to differentiate your content. Quality is only one point of differentiation. You would be better off concentrating on aspects such as relevance and freshness as well as readability, find-ability and of course ease of access.
Keep the end user and target audience firmly in mind when producing any content.
